You can plan your menu, décor, and entertainment around a place that inspires you for less than the cost of a plane ticket. Bonus points if you want to dress up for the occasion!

We present to you Battleship date night. If you don't own the game battleship, you can get creative --Borrow one from a friend, scour Facebook Marketplace or garage sales for a used version, or buy an inexpensive travel size version. You can still easily find the classic strategy game at most big box stores or even online including retro versions and upgraded electronic versions.

After a few rounds of battling it out on the high seas, plan to follow up with the iconic musical South Pacific. If Rodgers and Hammerstein isn't your thing, you could also choose something more modern like Pearl Harbor.

Plan to make a themed dessert for the evening-- mochi bars! Hawaiian Butter Mochi is a favorite on the island. If you haven't tried this divine delicacy then you're in for a treat. With its sweet rice flour base, it's naturally gluten free.

You can find sweet rice flour at an international store or online. We used this recipe for our date night. This is just one fun take on an inexpensive date night in. Get creative! You can put your own spin on things by adding a little competition, a fun snack or treat, and some snuggle time with a flick you both haven't seen (or can agree upon).

However you decide to plan your night, make sure to put it on your calendars to prioritize time together. Be flexible and keep things light hearted. Keep your goal in mind... time together and reconnecting. It's always worth the time, energy and effort to put into making a marriage last a lifetime. '
