Fun Spooky Breakfast
As the seasons change, we transition from summer fun to cozy winter with several fun holidays to mark time along the way. What kind of traditions does your family like to revisit year after year? Do you have the same fall recipes you make? Or maybe some orchards or pumpkin patches you visit annually? Traditions are what hold nostalgia and memories in place for us and our children.
One way to make fun memories is doing something out of the ordinary right at home. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. But with a little planning, your efforts can go a long way in making a delightful holiday.
This week, we bring you Spooky Breakfast. With all the traditional ingredients of a hearty meal and one fun twist of googly eyes, you can elevate your meal into a holiday tradition your kids will ask for again and again.
Simply start with English muffins, bacon or sausage patties, and egg. You can reassemble yourself or serve on a platter for custom sandwich making fun.
One easy fuss-free method for cooking bacon is on a sheet pan in the oven. Depending on your oven, you can cook the bacon anywhere from 375°- 400° and between 15-20 minutes (depending upon thickness of bacon).
For the eggs, you can scramble them, cook them omelet style and cut out a circle with a biscuit cutter, or even use an egg shaper for a perfectly circular result.
And don’t forget the spooky eye decorations!!! These are easily found in the baking aisle at most grocery stores. They can be placed on your sandwich, but would also be a fun addition to toast, pancakes, muffins, or scones. The possibilities are endless! You could even pack a fun lunch with a surprise by adding these to almost any meal.
Don’t forget to incorporate seasonal flavors to any meal such as apple cider, pumpkin spice, or even cranberry. You can see we even added spooky eyes to our pumpkin roll to add more fun to the table.
Speaking of fun, you can pick up seasonal napkins, plates, and cups to turn a regular meal into a festive affair. Check out these adorable to-go coffee cups with lids and sleeves! We simply warmed up some cider and served it in these cups.
Whether you are staying home with family or gathering with friends and neighbors this fall, consider fun ways to incorporate seasonal twists into your offerings to make fun memories for all!
